Sherbet Pip Hamper **REVIEW**

In my spare time I love to enter a competition or two, its super exciting to think you could possibly win and its something I can do easily on an evening with a baby on my laptop or when feeding too. A little while ago I was actually lucky enough to find out I had actually won a sherbet pip sweet hamper in a competition run with Florette. The prize was a amazing 1970's sweet hamper from Sherbet Pip filled with lots of delicious sweets complete with some real classics too, I couldn't wait to try it and so I thought I would share the contents with you.

Upon taking it out the box I was already impressed with the way the sweets were sent and presented, inside a large beautiful wicker picnic style hamper complete with leather straps and buckels. The basket felt super sturdy and we will definitely be keeping it to use again, perhaps for a picnic! Inside the sweets were individual packs in clear packs and then concealed within the hamper with green tissue paper and a "1970" stamped label finished off the hamper.

Sherbet Pip describe the hamper as "for those whose sweet years and memories were from growing up in the 1970's. As a guide we estimate the "sweet years" are between the ages of 7 and 14, the days when you had to earn pocket money and then walk or cycle to a local corner or sweet shop to pick up some delicious sweets with your pocket money."

Inside the box is crammed full of sweets of all types the sweets included inside the 1970's Large hamper are....

  • 5 x Bananas
  • 2 x Traffic Light Lollies
  • 2 x Anglo Bubbly
  • 1 x Sherbet Fountain
  • 1 x Drumstick
  • 1 x Golden Nuggets bubblegum
  • 1 x Parma Violets
  • 10 x Flying Saucers
  • 5 x Fried Eggs
  • 1 x Packet of Rainbow Drops
  • 8 x Candy Sticks
  • 170g bag of Cola Bottles
  • 100g bag of Shrimps
  • 12 x Gob Stoppers
  • 150g bag of Jelly Babies
  • 150g bag of Sweet Peanuts
  • 150g bag of Liquorice Comfits/Torpedoes
  • 150g bag of Cola Cubes

  • It was a great product that all the family could enjoy as there were softer sweets that James could try and some more grown up sweets for me and my husband. Even my granddads eye lit up at the sight of the liquorice. All of the sweets were eaten with nothing going to waste and it was a great conversation starter with my parents and even grandparents sharing their memories of some of the sweets from their childhood that were included in the hamper.

As you can see the hamper includes a very extensive range of sweets that are all equally delicious and there is plenty to share around too! Each type of sweet comes individually packaged in small clear bags each one hand tied with a piece of hessian and it is clear lots of care has gone into packaging each of these hampers giving them a lovely nostalgic finishing touch.

The large hamper costs £38 which is on first sight seems quite expensive for sweets however when you receive the hamper you can really tell the quality and thought that has gone into each hamper. Each one provides a real blast from the past and there are lots of other years to choose from which include sweets relevant to the year you have chosen!

You can even personalise your hamper with a personal message on the tag making it the perfect gift for anyone who loves sweets or who would love a blast from the past in sweet form. You can also get hampers from 1940's. 1950's and 1960's too.

Are there any sweets in here that have caught your eye? Perhaps you or your parents remember them from their childhood or perhaps they are sweets you regularly enjoy yourself? Let me know which would be the first sweet you would try from this hamper in the comments below.

    xXx

**I was not paid for the post. I won the hamper as part of a free to enter competition and wanted to share the contents myself.**
