Sun-Maid Raisins *REVIEW*

**AD - Review**

Like most parents I am used to hearing the words "I'm hungry" and so I always try and have a few healthy and delicious snack ideas on hand or in my bag for exactly those moments. It saves me having to spend lots of money on things when we are out and about and stops the kids snacking on less healthy alternatives and one thing I recently found that both kids love are raisins. So when we were recently offered the chance to try out a few different products from the Sun-Maid range I knew the kids would be up to the task.

If you haven't heard of the Sun-Maid brand, here is a little information and history about them -

"Sun-Maid has served consumers and customers since 1912 by providing premium quality raisins and dried fruits from the raisin and fruit farms of California to homes and eating establishments around the world. As a co-operative, Sun-Maid Growers of California is owned by family farmers who grow raisin grapes all located within 100 miles of each other in the Great Central Valley of California, midway between Los Angeles to the south and San Francisco to the north."

"Many people want to know if a real person was the original “Sun-Maid girl.” The answer is “Yes,” and her name was Lorraine Collett Petersen. In May 1915, she was discovered drying her black hair curls in the sunny backyard of her parents’ home in Fresno, California. She was then asked to pose for a painting while holding a basket tray of fresh grapes. This striking image was first applied to packages of Sun-Maid raisins in 1916. Over the years, this image has been seen on millions and millions of packages and has been taken into homes throughout the world."

The products I received to review were a large re-sealable 500g tub of Sun-maid raisins and a bag of 18 mini boxes of raisins. The large tub is perfect to use in baking, cooking or just if you have a household that really loves raisins! The raisings come in a resealable bag within the tub keeping them fresh and tasty after every serving.

The 18 mini box pack was the firm favourite with the kids though! The come in a perfectly sized box which is just the right size for a tasty snack or in lunch boxes. They are also super handy to have in the cupboard for when (if your anything like me) find yourself rummaging the cupboards looking for something to curb that sweet tooth craving lol! The raisins were all delicious and juicy and not dry like you find with other similar brands and the small boxes are perfect for little hands to grab on to.

My little boy particularly loved the small boxes and it was a good way to swap the more sugary snacks to something which is much healthier.

Sun-maid pride themselves on the fact there raisins contain nothing artificial just "Grapes and Sunshine" Which is fab to know as a mother as you can confidently give them to your kids knowing exactly what you are giving them.

The 500g tub is priced at around £3.15 and the 18 mini box pack is priced around £3.20 which I think is a fair price for both! The 500g tub really is full to the brim and you get 18 mini boxes in the mini box pack so you think that's potentially 18 lunch box snacks!!

Some of you may have seen my previous post about joining the gym and reviewing these has given me a fab idea that I shall me popping a small box of raisins in my bag to enjoy after the gym to curb that hunger after a good work out!

Have you tried Sun-Maid raisins before?

xXx

**We received a sample of the Sun-Maid raisins shown above for the purpose of this review. However all words, opinions and images are my own.**
