Belly Bashimi - Game Review.

**AD - Review**

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a real life sumo wrestler? How about the idea of being able to bounce your opponents out of your way with your sumo belly?

Well the new game Belly Bashimi gives you the chance to try your hand at becoming the sumo sashimi sensei champion with its belly bashing game that will have everyone rolling around in laughter.

If you are wondering what an earth I am on about then let me introduce you to Belly Bashimi! Belly Bashimi is a sumo style game that you can play at home. It comes complete with two inflatable bellies that opponents strap to their own belly before stepping inside the ring and attempting to bounce their opponent back out using only their belly.

The set comes with a number of soft foam style rods which are connected together to form your "ring". We found that these were a little misshapen from being inside the box so its worth getting them out and set up for a little while before you plan on playing to give them chance to settle.

To make the game a little more interesting it comes with a number of discs/tokens which show a number of different types of sushi and a spinner showing the same sushi types. The sushi tokens need to be scattered inside the ring randomly ensuring they are all the right way up and showing a picture.  Players take it in turns to spin the spinner and discover which sushi they will have to place their feet on inside the ring. Each player spins the spinner twice, one for each foot and then once both opponents have their  feet firmly planted on their indicated sushi discs they.... BASH!

The aim of the game is for both players to try and bash each other off of their sushi tiles and straight out of the ring using nothing but their bellies which are inflatable and held on with a Velcro strap.

Belly Bashimi is designed for two plus players and whilst you only get two inflatable bellies in the game, the instructions have a handy guide to show how up to 8 players can play in a championship style game with winners facing winners from other rounds.

Both James and Evelyn had lots of fun becoming sumo wrestlers and bouncing out some of that build up sibling rivalry energy they seem to have so much of! Its definitely a game that will have everyone laughing but I would say that ideally opponents need to be of a similar age/size as James kept bouncing Evelyn out with ease (until we made it a little more tricky with were he placed his feet!).

It is also worth mentioning however that you will need quite a large clear space to play this in. Whilst the ring itself isn't too large, you need an area outside of that for when the opponents fall out of the ring which, for our kids often meant them rolling around the floor after they had been bounced out!

Over all both kids love this game and I can see it being a bit hit especially when they have their friends over (or for the grown ups after having a few drinks at Christmas!). The inflatable bellies feel really sturdy and certainly took a few bumps and bashes from the kids over the last few weeks without any punctures. It is a fast pace game so perfect for kids who get bored easily and is a great game for all ages as long as you have two opponents of the same age.

Belly Bashimi is available to buy from many good stores including Very and is priced at £17.99.

Would you like to give sumo a try?
