Magical Stories and Music with the tonies® Toniebox **REVIEW & GIVEAWAY**

**Advertisement Feature**

Bedtime has never been an easy affair in our house. Both James and Evelyn really struggle to switch off and relax when it comes to bedtime and often a bedtime story or 3 still isn't enough! So when we were recently invited to try out the tonies® Toniebox I was intrigued to see if it could help the kids relax at bedtime and improve our bedtime routine.

The tonies® Toniebox is a fantastic, screen free way for kids to listen to music and stories with the help of fun, colourful characters called Tonies®. The tonies® Toniebox itself is where the magic happens! It is a soft squishy cube that is soft enough to be cuddles, robust enough to be dropped and easy enough that even young kids can use it easily. It plays a range of music, audiobooks and content that you can download. It is so easy to use, even a 5 year old can do it!

Media for the Toniebox is played through a tonie. A tonie is a small, hand painted character which goes on top of your Toniebox and they are what bring your Toniebox to life! Each tonie has enough space to be filled with 90 minutes of music, audiobooks or even educational stories. The kids were thrilled to see some of their favourite characters such as The Gruffalo, Little Red Riding Hood and even The Lion King included in the tonie characters that are available.

We received the tonies® Toniebox starter set which included the Toniebox as well as one creative tonie. Creative tonies are a little different to the tonies I mentioned above, that's because the creative tonies can be loaded with 90 minutes of anything you like. Perhaps your child has some favourite songs or music they like to listen to whilst they drift off, or a favourite audiobook that helps them relax. Whatever your child likes to listen to can be preloaded onto the creative tonie character.

To set up your Toniebox you will need a Wi-Fi connection (and your Wi-Fi) password as well as a mobile or tablet device to download the app or to visit the website. Once you have accessed the website or downloaded the app just follow the easy instructions to set up your Toniecloud account, which of course is totally free and allows you to manage the content on your creative tonies as well as configuring your Toniebox etc.

Once you are all set up and connected to the Toniebox the lights will light up, indicating your are all set up correctly and ready to go. Set up is really easy and only takes a few minutes, then you are ready to go.

Using the Toniebox and tonies really is simple and Evelyn who is 5 had no trouble getting to grips with using it straight away. You simply take a tonie character and place it on the square light on top of the Toniebox, it will attach magnetically (to avoid it easily being knocked off) and should begin playing immediately. If it doesn't, a light squeeze of the little grey ears will wake your Toniebox from sleep/snooze mode and will then begin playing.

To turn the volume up or down squeeze the grey ears, to fast forward or rewind you can tap either side of the Toniebox and to pause the music or story just remove the tonie from the top. Whilst the Toniebox also comes with a charging station the Toniebox can actually play up to 7 hours of audio without needing charging. When your Toniebox does need charging the light will turn orange, giving you time to get it charged before the next bedtime!

Both James and Evelyn have really taken to the Toniebox and I have added a few of the tonie characters to their stockings for Christmas as they have been enjoying it so much! Evelyn will use it in the daytime for a big of a dance or sing along to her favourite tunes or just to listen to a story. Then they will both lay in bed and listen to a audiobook on our creative tonie that we chose together and downloaded.

Its been great at helping them switch off at night and I think they would love the independence of being able to work and control the whole thing themselves.

The tonies starter set (as shown above) which comes with one Creative Tonie is priced at £69.95. These can be purchased directly from the tonies Website or from Amazon. You can also purchase additional creative tonies which are priced at around £11 each, whilst the tonies audio characters which come preloaded with music/stories range in price between £15 and £20 each.
