A Splashing Day Out at Cotswold Country Park and Beach

How lovely has it been to have the sun shining, especially since last week saw a bank holiday/half term AND the sun shining, a combination practically unheard of here in the UK, right? So with that in mind we knew we wanted to make the most of having some family time in the sun and decided to head over to Cotswold Country Park and Beach, a short drive from where we live, situated in Cirencester.

Cotswold Country Park and Beach is situated within the wider Cotswold water park and features a family friendly inland beach area complete with its very own swimming lagoon area (part of the South Lake). The water is manned by lifeguards during peak times and section of the lake is partitioned off specifically for swimmers and visitors to the beach to use so kids can't go too far out onto the lake.

The beach area scoops around the lake in a semi circle shape offering plenty of space for visitors to sit and enjoy the sand and the water without feeling too overcrowded. Or if you would prefer to sit on the grass there is a raised grass verge behind the sand (with steps leading down to the beach) around the lake area too, meaning there is ample space and seating for everyone to enjoy their visit without feeling overcrowded.

But that is not all that's on offer, since the Country Park and Beach is park of the wider Cotswold Water Park area there is plenty to do for those maybe seeking a little more adventure or fun than a dip in the water. Activities such as swan pedalos, rowing boats, paddle boards and kayaks and much more. It is worth noting though that these do need to be booked in advance of your visit and activities can be booked via the website at any time.

When it comes to food and drink there is plenty of choice on offer too, of course with lots of parkland and beach space you can also bring along a trusty picnic. But if you are wanting something a little different The Beach Shack, which is located along the boardwalk has you covered. They serve everything from burgers and hotdogs to halloumi baguettes and katsu chicken, you can even grab an ice cold alcoholic beverage to sip on the beach if you wish.

Or if you are looking for something completely different or perhaps you are coming as a large group or family, then why not hire out one of the BBQ stations located at Cotswold Country Park and Beach. You can bring along your own food and drinks and cook up a storm on one of the BBQ stations all without the worry of having to drag your own BBQ along or wait for it to cool down to take home after either.

We are regular visitors to Cotswold Country Park and Beach and the kids absolutely love it! They will happily spend all day splashing around in the water, floating around on their inflatable lilos and rings, building and playing on the sand and of course enjoying an ice cream. And the great thing about it all is that entry to Cotswold Country Park and Beach won't break the bank either! It costs around 12 per car (up to 5 people) off peak (between 2nd April and 9th July) and just £16 during peak times (between 10th July and 12th September), these prices give you access to the beach area, swimming lake and parks etc and as it is very popular it really is advisable to book in advance via the website

So if you are looking for a fun, relaxing and cheap day out that the whole family will enjoy without the stress and busy feel of a seaside trip then I would highly recommend Cotswold Country Park & Beach. It has sand, water, delicious food & ice cream, lots of fun water activities and ample parking all for under £20 a family, what's not to love right?

Have you ever visited Cotswold Country Park & Beach or is it somewhere you think you and your family would love to visit some time?

xXx
