Why Your Bedroom Could Benefit From Adding a Chair.

**Advertisement Feature**

We all want our bedroom to look its best, it's the place where we catch up on sleep and for many people a place they can lay down to relax and unwind from the day. There are are lots of things we can do to make this happen. From simple changes like adding photos or art to the walls, to more significant changes like fitting a new floor or changing the furniture.

When it comes to furniture, there are staples which are found in the majority of bedrooms, wardrobes, draws and beds being the most obvious. However, there is one piece of furniture which is often left out of bedrooms, but that can be a fantastic addition. A chair!

Now some people have chairs in their bedroom, either to use at a desk for work or maybe at a dressing table. But in this case, we are talking about a chair which is there to for its aesthetic appeal and what it can bring to a room, rather than being necessary like a work chair.

There are lots of different options you can choose from when it comes to these types of chairs, and it all depends on your personal preferences. Depending on the colour scheme of your room, this may well impact the colour of the material you choose. The choice of material is also important, as with any piece of furniture you’re going to be sitting on and living with for years, it needs to be something you’ll love. Leather and fabric both have their pros and cons and taking the time to work out which would work better in your bedroom is important if you’re thinking about adding a chair.

With that being said, what are the benefits of adding a chair to your bedroom? Firstly, and this may sound simple, but it’s worth keeping in mind, it gives you another place to sit. This can be very useful for a variety of reasons. While beds can be really comfortable to sleep in, sometimes sitting on them can be problematic, particularly if you struggle with your back. Having a chair in your bedroom gives you somewhere to sit and watch TV or read before going to bed in the evening.

Secondly, if you’re struggling to find a piece of furniture for a corner of a room, a chair can be a great option. Corners are always tricky, and if you already have all of your storage needs covered, you may find your bedroom with an empty space. Chairs work well here because you can place them in corners without dominating the available space. It is worth saying if you don’t have the space for a chair you shouldn’t try and force one in. Adding a chair to an already busy room, with not a lot of free space will result in your bedroom feeling cramped.

Finally, it gives you somewhere to set out clothes for the next day. If you lead a busy family life, like so many of us do, setting out your clothes the night before can save valuable time for you the next morning. Having a chair gives you somewhere to place these clothes neatly so you can get ready quickly in the morning. However, while it can be tempting to use a chair as a somewhere to leave clothes before putting them away, try not to as it can clutter up your bedroom which can make it a less relaxing environment.

There are some great options when it comes to bedroom chairs. More traditional options like a Chesterfield chair work can work well depending on your design style, or more modern chairs such as an Eames lounge chair. It really is down to your taste and the space you have available.

Would you consider have a chair in your bedroom?
