The Science of Sleep Hygiene: How to Keep Your Bed Fresh and Clean

**Collaborative Post**

Most people focus on diet and exercise for a healthy lifestyle, but one crucial aspect is often overlooked, a good nights sleep and that includes where you sleep. Many of us underestimate how important a good night sleep is for our body and how much work our bodies do for us when we are sleeping. A fresh and clean sleeping space can improve overall well-being, helping you wake up feeling refreshed and energised. A dirty bed can lead to allergies, discomfort, and poor sleep quality. Dust, sweat, and bacteria build up over time, making it essential to keep your sleeping environment as clean as possible.

Using Colour Psychology to Get a Better Nights Sleep

**Collaborative Post**

The colours you surround yourself with impact your mood, productivity, and sleep much more than you think. For instance, uplifting yellows can put you in a wonderful mood first thing in the morning, while sombre greys can set you up for a miserable day, just like when you look out of your bedroom window and see grey skies.

Interior designers use colour psychology - a fancy name for how colours impact our thoughts and feelings - to create comfortable spaces. You can do the same in your bedroom to sleep better (other ways to sleep better include upgrading your mattress and creating a sleep routine).

Join us below to discover how to use colour psychology in your bedroom.

What are the Differences Between Expensive and Cheap Bed Frames?

**Collaborative Post**

A bed frame's cost and perceived value boils down to a few key factors: materials and construction quality, brand name recognition, where and how it was produced, and a healthy dose of personal preference. Many people will be led to believe that the more the spend, the better the frame however that isn't always the case!

A costlier frame isn't necessarily higher quality, while a cheaper option may be just as durable and comfortable. Ultimately you have to choose a frame (and mattress) that suits your style and needs, regardless of the price.

5 Kid's Beds with an Extra Guest Bed for Sleepovers

**Collaborative Post**

AD:
Single beds with an extra guest bed double up sleeping space in a practical way, making them an excellent choice for kids' bedrooms. The beauty of these beds is that they look like regular beds when the guest bed is hidden, maximising floor space most of the time, but have a slide-out bed that stays below the main bed or folds out to make a double or king.

Because beds with an extra guest bed use standard mattresses, they also provide more comfort than fold-out beds and sleeping on the floor. This article reveals our favourite 5 kid's bests with an extra guest bed in 2023, with prices starting from only £580.

Tips for Creating a Clutter Free, Relaxing Bedroom Space

 **Collaborative Feature**

Your home is your safe space, the place you come to after a long day, slip off your shoes and are finally able to relax. But I think we can all agree that when it comes to our favourite space to relax and unwind it would probably be our bedroom. The one room that is just yours, no kid's toys and mess, just a grown-up space for you to relax and unwind. But as a parent it's probably the room in your home that is most neglected right? The one room that is almost the last to be decorated and it slowly becomes a bit of a dumping ground for well, almost anything and everything right?

But we all deserve a space to call our own, somewhere clutter free and relaxing. A space where we can shut the door and just be calm, peacefully and quite in. So below I am sharing some tips on how you can transform your neglected bedroom space into a calming, relaxing and clutter free space with some quick and easy changes.

International Wallpaper week with Graham & Brown.

Did you know that 3rd - 10th October was International Wallpaper week?

With this is mind we were recently contacted by the fabulous people over at Graham and Brown and asked if we would like to use their products to make over a room for international wallpaper week.

As it would happen we had recently stripped all the old wallpaper from James and Evelyns bedroom ready to decorate so we jumped at the chance to be able to decorate it with Graham and Brown.
After some time spent looking through the Graham and Brown website (there are so many lovely wallpapers and paints to choose from), I eventually decided on these.

Paint in the shade "Mermaid" and this funky monochrome "Superstar" black wallpaper.

Since Evelyn and James share a bedroom I wanted something that wouldn't feel to gender specific and think these colour work really well.

The paint was lovely a thick and went on really well. It meant as we had white walls underneath we only needed one coat and it provided a really good coverage.

Next up we had the wallpaper to apply. Now neither myself or my husband are decorating experts and we were a little nervous about putting up wallpaper. However the Graham and Brown "paste the wall" wallpaper made it super easy to do. The wallpaper is a great quality meaning it makes it so much easier to put up and hard wearing when up.

The print itself is really bold and stands out against the teal colour of the walls and the white furnitue which I love.

Why not get inspired like us by International Wallpaper week and see if you can transform a room in your house with wallpaper. It could be a whole room for maximum impact or why not have a feature wall like us and make it a real wow factor. Its amazing how much difference having wallpaper in a room can make, giving it a real personality and focal point.

If you want to check our more of the paint or wallpaper available head over to the Graham and Brown website and prepare to want to decorate!

Soak & Sleep Bedding **REVIEW**

It doesn't get much better than fresh new bed sheets when you slip in to bed, so when we were offered some new bedding from the Soak & Sleep range I jumped at the chance!

Soak & Sleep aim to provide fantastic bed and bath products for a lot less than those on the high street whilst still maintaining a high quality. Soak & Sleep have stripped away the glossy advertising and fancying bags instead opting for their team to travel the planet and commission the finest products they could find at the prices they could afford keeping luxury in mind. The Soak & Sleep aim is simple, gorgeous home comforts, honestly priced, all powered by great customer service and that is exactly what you receive with Soak & Sleep.

Our bedroom is quite neutral in colour (we are hoping to add a feature wall but can't decide on wall paper!) so I went for this gorgeous grey luxury embroidered bed linen and a beautiful quilted bedspread to accompany it in the stone colourway.

When the items arrived I could immediately tell these were top quality! They arrived quickly and well packaged with the bedspread coming in a large clear plastic zip bag which could easily be saved and used to store the bedspread when not in use.

The bed linen features a beautiful embroidered design which is finished with a flourish of mother of pearl buttons for that elegant touch. This has a 220 thread count and is amazingly soft. The design is chic and classic with the elegant touches from the embroidery, makes this a lovely set which could easily fit in to so many decor styles and feels amazing.

We ordered the double size to fit our bed and it fit perfectly. The pillows didn't slip around in the case and the duvet was secured with the   at the bottom of the duvet cover keeping everything in place throughout the night.

I haven't had a bed spread on my bed before but I am not sure I could ever be without now I have one! It really finishes off the bed and the over all look of the room. The Classic cotton quilted bedspread is a beautiful, vintage-style bedspread with a practical cotton casing which is washable too. I have found it the perfect thickness to sleep under in the summer too when the duvet is just too warm.

If you like the look of our bed set up and want to purchase your own, or you want to check out the full (and amazing!) range Soak & Sleep have to offer you can check out their website here - www.soakandsleep.com
