Disney Vampirina Boo-Tiful Costume **REVIEW**

Evelyn loves to dress up! In fact you are more likely to find her parading around the house in a fancy dress costume than "normal" clothes at any given time. She loves her dressing up box and we are always looking for new costumes to add to it, so when we were recently offered the chance to try out a new costume, the Disney Vampirina Boo-Tiful costume I knew Evelyn would be up it!

The costume is Disney Junior's Vampirina, a show she has been watching since it first came on the screen and the catchy theme tune even has me humming along.

Halloween Outfit Inspirations from Tickled Pink (and something for the grown ups too!)

I can't believe its October already and with that brings Halloween!

Both James and Evelyn love dressing up so for them Halloween is a great opportunity for them to dress up and get suitable spooky! We tend to take them along to a organised Halloween party rather than trick or treating and so that means they both get dressed up to join in.

So when the lovely people over at Tickled Pink Fancy dress offered us Halloween costumes for both James and Evelyn to review the kids were so excited! I let them choose their own outfits, James went for the Jolly Rotten Pirate Boy costume and Evelyn chose the Elegant Glitter Witch costume both of which I think were great choices. There were so many great costumes to choose from though!

Jolly Rotten Pirate Costume                                        Elegant Glitter Witch Costume

The Jolly Rotten Pirate Boy costume is made up of a gruesome printed top, printed trousers and hat. The detail on both the top and the trousers is very good and pretty detailed. James loved the bloody body parts and thought they were great. The quality of the print of the costume is good too, I have put this through the wash and the designed has not faded, peeled or cracked at all! This costume is available is size small (4-6 years), medium (7-9 years) and large ( 10-12 years). I would say this costume is true to size and as the trousers are elasticated they do seem to stay up pretty well. The only criticism I would have would be that the pirate hat this outfit comes with gets quite squashed in the packaging so will need some folding and adjusting before wearing.

To complete James look I used some gory scar and cut transfer tattoo's a pirate sword and some face paint for his eye patch!

The Elegant Glitter Witch costume came as a one piece dress plus a matching witches hat. The skirt of the dress is made up of 3 layers, a base layer which matches the top and 2 layers of tulle (1 black and 1 orange). The skirt is then covered is gold swirls and stars making it a very cute spooky outfit. I would recommend giving the dress some time hanging up as the skirt had become a little crumpled in the post but hanging for a day or so solved this! This costume is available in small (3-4 years) or medium (5-6 years). I would say the sizes are roughly true to size but if anything a little on the smaller side. Evelyn usually wears 2-3 years clothing so we ordered the small and it fit really well, there is definitely room left to grow though!

I paired Evelyn's costume with some spotty pink tights and a glittery broom (which can be seen in the photo below).

James and Evelyn absolutely love their Ticked Pink fancy dress Halloween outfits and can't wait to wear them to the Halloween party at the end of the month! Both costumes feel like good quality and are a great price too (both outfits were priced at £14.99 each).

If you want to check out these outfits or more of the great outfits Tickled Pink Fancy dress have to offer check out their fancy dress website.

Also if you are a grown up wanting to get dressed up and into the spirit why not try out a gothic or punk style with an outfit like the one below. It is cute, practical and looks great too so perfect for a special occasion or just to show off your style!

Fun Warehouse Fancy Dress Costume **REVIEW**

James loves dressing up!

The first hint of a fancy dress party sends him speeding up the stairs and rummaging through his fancy dress box deciding what he is going to go dressed as this time. In fact there doesn't even need to party! You will often find us wandering around the supermarket or our local park with James dressed as Batman or a Dragon lol!

So when James was given the opportunity to choose a fancy dress outfit of his choice from Fun Warehouse I knew he would be beyond excited and it took him several days to choose as there is just so much choice.

He eventually settled on a Hulk Deluxe costume as despite having almost all the Marvel and superhero costumes this was one he was missing.

The Hulk Deluxe costume came well packaged in a reusable plastic pouch with a popper fastening to the top so if you wanted to you could easily use this to store the outfit when not in use.

The fancy dress costume is made up of 2 items the all in one outfit and a hard plastic mask with an elasticated fastening to the back. The Hulk Deluxe costume is available in sizes 3-4 (small), 5-6 (medium), 7-8 (large). James is 6 but is quite tall for his age so I ordered the 7-8 and it was a perfect fit, if in doubt about size I would definitely recommend ordering the larger size.

James was very impressed by his Deluxe Hulk costume and loved the added touch of the padding "muscles" which makes this costume the "deluxe" version over the standard version. The costume feels well made and the velcro fastening to the back of the main costume feels pretty hard wearing.

James has now worn the costume on several occasions and it still looks as new, the velcro is still holding strong and isn't showing any signs or pulling away or loosing its "stick" which I often find happens in cheaper costumes. The colours are still vibrant and bright too after several washes and the padding is most definitely holding its shape. The mask the costume comes with is a great quality too, made from a hardened plastic rather than your usual flimsy plastic means the mask is certainly made to last through hours of play! The Hulk Deluxe costume is priced at £22.84.

Overall we love the Deluxe Hulk costume and the great service we have received from the Fun Warehouse. If you are looking for a fancy dress costume you must check them out!
They have something for every occasion from Superheros like the one James choose to Christmas and Animals. Fun Warehouse don't just sell children's costumes either they sell a whole range of adults costumes too.

Why not check out all the costumes over at the Fun Warehouse website.

Do you or your children like to dress up? Whats yours or your child's favourite character to dress up as?

Time to dress up costume **REVIEW**

There is something so adorable about babies dressed up in cute costumes and lets face its there is only a short period of time we parents can get away with it before they start to say no!

So when I was recently offered the opportunity to try out this SUPER cute owl costume from Time to dress up I simply couldn't resist!

The costume arrived swiftly and well packaged, it was wrapped beautifully in dotty tissue paper and then inside its own handy plastic reusable bag inside. I found this bag to be perfect for keeping the outfit in when not in use to keep it safe.

The owl costume is made up of a bodysuit with is fastened with a zip and several poppers. It features open feet and hands and is fully lined. It features different shades of blue and green "ruffles" around the neckline as arms to look like owl feathers. There are also 2 orange "feet" which again are lined and are simply slipped on to the feet like shoes. There there is the head piece which is worn like a hat and it fastens under the chin with a simple velcro strap. All pieces are fully lined and really high quality!

I really liked the face the body suit part of the costume was fastened with a zip to the back making it easy to get on and off, but it also had poppers around the leg meaning I didn't need to remove the whole costume for a quick nappy change.

Another bonus with this costume is that it is machine washable which is almost essential I find with childrens, especially babies clothing as Evelyn is forever spilling food/drink on herself!

Look how cute she looks!

The only small issue we had was that the feet didn't seem to stay on very well as Evelyn isn't walking yet and as there is no strap to hold the feet on, just an elasticated band around the ankle they seemed to slip off. Im sure this wouldn't have been an issue if Evelyn was walking and the feet do feature a non slip sole so that babies can walk around without slipping in them.

The sizes do come up quite large so if you are thinking of ordering I would definitely say order the size of clothing your child is wearing now and you will get plenty of use out of the costume!
